The Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) of Pan-Atlantic University recently unveiled a new handbook focused on promoting inclusive and equitable entrepreneurship in Nigeria.

The event, held at the Four Points by Sheraton in Lagos, introduced the handbook as a vital resource for organizations and individuals striving to foster inclusive entrepreneurship. Dr. Nneka Okekearu, Director of the EDC, highlighted the importance of providing accessible, practical information to support equitable business growth in today’s evolving landscape.

Dr. Okekearu explained that the handbook builds on EDC’s 21 years of experience in running entrepreneurship programs across Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa. She noted that, through collaborations such as the recent partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, the center has identified gaps in inclusivity and equity, prompting the creation of the handbook to address these issues.

The resource is designed to support initiatives aimed at transforming the youth of Nigeria through capacity building and mindset change.

In her speech, Prof. Enase Okonedo, Vice Chancellor of Pan-Atlantic University, emphasized that fostering inclusivity in entrepreneurship requires the collective effort of both the private and public sectors. The keynote speaker, Rosy Fynn, Country Director of the Mastercard Foundation, echoed this by stating that inclusive entrepreneurship ensures marginalized groups—including women, youth, people with disabilities, and internally displaced persons—have equal opportunities to start and grow businesses.
