Miss Thelma Chinazor Ugochukwu, an HND 2 student of Banking and Finance at Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), has emerged as the winner of the 7th edition of the Mrs. ‘Debola Osibogun National Essay Competition.

The competition, organized by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), was held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, and featured undergraduates studying Banking and Finance and related courses across Nigerian tertiary institutions. Miss Ugochukwu excelled in the oral interview segment, which was conducted by top Human Resource executives from leading banks.

The Deputy Director of the Capacity Building Certification and Standard Directorate of CIBN lauded the dedication of the faculty and students, emphasizing the hard work that contributed to the victory.

Dr. Adebola Adebisi, Head of the Department of Banking and Finance, was also recognized for her commitment to enhancing the educational experience of students.

During the award presentation, YABATECH Rector Dr. Ibraheem Abdul expressed pride in the department’s achievement and commended the staff and students for their resilience and determination. He urged the awardees to strive for greater accomplishments, assuring them of the college’s continued support in pursuing academic excellence.
