Air Peace, one of Nigeria’s leading airlines, has entered a strategic partnership with Boeing Company and Cranfield University to enhance its safety culture and operational excellence. The collaboration focuses on leadership development through an intensive five-day training program themed Advanced Leadership in Safety Excellence, held under the Boeing Global Learning Institute (BGLI).

According to a statement by Dr. Ejike Ndiulo, Head of Corporate Communications at Air Peace, the initiative gathered executives, postholders, and management leaders from various departments of the airline. The program aimed to equip participants with advanced safety leadership skills, practical tools for risk management, and strategies to foster a culture of continuous improvement. Ndiulo highlighted Air Peace’s longstanding commitment to safety as the cornerstone of its success, emphasizing that this partnership reinforces that vision.

Key facilitators of the training included experts from Boeing and Cranfield University, such as Prof. Graham Braithwaite, Head of Aerospace, and Dr. Fabian Steinmann, Lecturer in Organisational Resilience and Change. They tailored the curriculum to address Air Peace’s unique challenges, blending theoretical insights with practical applications to ensure a lasting impact. “Safety is at the heart of everything we do,” said Braithwaite, emphasizing the importance of exchanging global best practices to strengthen Air Peace’s operations.

The program’s design included follow-up review sessions to ensure that participants applied their learnings effectively within their teams. Capt. Godfrey Ogbogu, Safety Manager at Air Peace, noted that the initiative reflects the airline’s readiness to adapt to the dynamic nature of the aviation industry. “This class reinforces what we know and exposes us to new avenues of learning,” he said, adding that the partnership positions Air Peace to tackle evolving industry challenges while prioritizing safety and innovation.
