The Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, has reiterated the federal government’s dedication to enhancing polytechnic education by equipping federal institutions to produce graduates capable of meeting the demands of Nigeria’s evolving economy.

Alausa made this known on Tuesday during the commissioning of a new lecture room and laboratory building, as well as laboratory equipment, at the Federal Polytechnic Bali in Taraba State.

Represented by Dr. Ejeh Usman, Director of Polytechnic Education and Allied Institutions, Alausa disclosed that the project was executed under the NEEDS Assessment Revitalization Fund at a cost of ₦390 million. He explained that the new facilities aim to foster practical learning and innovative research, providing a conducive environment for lectures and hands-on technical training. Federal Polytechnic Bali is the second institution to benefit from this initiative, following Kaduna Polytechnic.

“The facility will boost Federal Polytechnic Bali’s capacity for technical training, prepare students for real-world challenges, and contribute significantly to the institution’s advancement,” the minister said. He urged the institution’s management to ensure proper utilization and maintenance of the facilities to maximize their impact. Alausa emphasized the federal government’s unwavering commitment to education as a cornerstone of national development.

Dr. Mohammed Usman, Rector of Federal Polytechnic Bali, expressed gratitude to the Federal Ministry of Education for the project. He noted that the new facilities would significantly enhance the quality of learning and research at the polytechnic, further positioning it as a center of excellence for technical education.
