A Lagos lawmaker, Hon. Bonu Solomon Saanu, has expressed optimism about the potential of Nigerian school children, describing them as a source of hope for the country’s future. Saanu, who represents Badagry Constituency 1, shared his views after a recent visit to schools within his constituency. The visit, according to him, was an opportunity to connect with the students, understand their challenges, and inspire them toward greatness.

“The main motive for the visit is to keep the children inspired and in check, letting them know that they can be whoever they want to be in the future,” Saanu stated. He emphasized the importance of his presence as a role model for the students, encouraging them to focus on their studies and believe in their potential. During the visit, the lawmaker introduced the students to the values of good governance in Lagos State, aiming to instill in them a sense of responsibility and civic awareness.

The visit also included an interactive session with teachers, during which Saanu discussed the progress and challenges facing the schools. He assured the educators of his commitment to effective representation of the constituency and pledged to advocate for the resources and support needed to improve the quality of education in Badagry. “The interaction with teachers was an eye-opener, and I’m committed to ensuring their voices are heard,” he said.

Reflecting on his experience, Saanu expressed renewed confidence in the future leadership emerging from the constituency. “I’m thrilled to say that my visit to the schools left me with hope and confidence in the future leaders from Badagry. These children have the potential to shape a brighter future for Nigeria,” he remarked. The lawmaker’s initiative underscores the critical role of community engagement in inspiring the next generation and addressing the challenges facing the education sector.
