Covenant University has been named the top tertiary institution in Nigeria in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) World Universities Rankings. The university achieved a global ranking between 201-1000, securing its position as a leader in Nigerian higher education.

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) ranked second nationally and between 1001-1200 globally, excelling in international outlook, research environment, and research quality. Landmark University, located in Kwara State, took the third spot in Nigeria, also ranking between 1001-1200 globally, with impressive scores in teaching and international outlook.

The University of Ibadan (UI) and the University of Lagos (UNILAG) ranked fourth and fifth in Nigeria, respectively, with both institutions placed in the 1001-1200 global range. The rankings highlight the strengths and areas for improvement across Nigerian universities, offering valuable insights for enhancing the country’s higher education sector.

Other notable universities featured in the rankings include Bayero University, Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), Federal University of Technology Minna (FUTMINNA), and the University of Benin. These institutions, along with others on the list, continue to showcase the growing potential and competitiveness of Nigerian universities on the global stage.
