The Deputy Governor of Yobe State, Idi Barde Gubana, on Monday, visited the Blind Workshop in Damagum, headquarters of Fune Local Government Area, following a fire outbreak that destroyed the facility. The Deputy Governor expressed his sympathy to the affected individuals, highlighting the state government’s commitment to addressing their plight.
During the visit, Gubana announced a donation of five hundred thousand naira to support the victims and alleviate the immediate challenges caused by the fire. He further directed the Chairman of Fune Local Government to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the damage and submit a detailed report to the state government for appropriate action.
Gubana assured the workshop’s members of the government’s continued support, emphasizing its resolve to assist vulnerable groups in society. He called for swift collaboration between the local government and relevant state agencies to ensure the restoration of the facility and the resumption of activities for the benefit of those who depend on it for their livelihood.
