A team of students from Queen of the Rosary College Onitsha, in Anambra State, has clinched global second place in the just concluded World Affairs Challenge.

The World Affairs Challenge (WAC) is an international program and competition for middle and high school students to develop and implement their own SMART solutions for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Ajayi Crowther VC warns students against immoral practices

The Vice-Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, Professor Timothy Adebayo, on Friday said the university will not tolerate any form of immoral conduct among students or bend the rule for anyone found guilty of immoral practices.

In a speech he delivered at the matriculation ceremony for new students of the university, Adebayo said he acknowledged the sacrifices of parents who have decided to expose their children to global academic climates by enlisting them at the school.

Students demand inclusion of Robotics science in Lagos school curriculum

Students in Lagos State on Sunday urged Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration to include Robotics Science into their school curriculum to develop further technology set skills of the younger population.

The students made the call after participating in the Robotics competition organised in the Ikorodu Division of the state as part of the inauguration activities for the second term of Governor Sanwo-Olu, coming up on May 29, 2023, expressing confidence that investment in this ecosystem would build the science and technology space of the state and Nigeria at large.

Lagos leads as 11,350 sit teachers’ qualifying exam

No fewer than 11,350 candidates on Saturday, participated in the first batch of the Teachers Registration Council’s Professional Qualifying Examination nationwide. The examination popularly known as PQE is conducted by the TRCN, the regulatory agency for teaching in Nigeria.

Registrar of TRCN, Prof Josiah Ajiboye, who disclosed this while monitoring the exercise at Sascon International School Maitama, Abuja, said reports from across the country revealed that the exam went on smoothly.

FG Appoints Oba Of Benin As NOUN Chancellor

The Federal Government has appointed Oba of Benin, Ewuare II as the Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), two years after the institution has been without a Chancellor.

The Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Olufemi Peters, who announced this when the management staff of the institution paid a courtesy visit to the Oba on Friday in Benin City, Edo State, assured that the fortunes of the university would improve.
