A tragic incident unfolded in Ibadan, Oyo State, as a secondary school student was reportedly shot and killed by a police officer while heading to write his West African Examinations Council (WAEC) paper. The boy, who was in his father’s car, was caught in the crossfire when police officers allegedly opened fire while chasing his father for driving against traffic along Old Ife Road.

Eyewitnesses say the police fired shots in an attempt to stop the vehicle, resulting in a bullet fatally striking the student. The heartbreaking event has sparked outrage across social media platforms, with many Nigerians demanding justice and accountability from the police force.

Popular skit maker and activist, Mr Macaroni, joined the outcry online, condemning the Nigerian police for their reckless actions.
