Supervisors aiding exam malpractice, says WAEC

The West African Examination Council has alleged that supervisors who are supposed to take questions to examination centres are aiding and abetting malpractices across the country.

The Head of National Office, Nigeria, Mr Patrick Areghan, made this known on Thursday in Abuja while monitoring the examination in some Government Secondary Schools.

15-year-old scores 99% in UTME maths

A student of Fountain Heights Secondary School, Surulere Lagos State, Michelle David had 99% score in Mathematics at the just concluded UTME 2023 exams scored.

A statement made available to The PUNCH read in part, “15-year-old David has demonstrated a level of proficiency in Mathematics and other sciences that is truly outstanding, making her parents and the school proud with her aggregate score of 334 in the just concluded UTME 2023.  This is a testament to her incredible intelligence and dedication to her studies.

Academy seeks reduction of out-of-school children

The Bridge International Academies, Nigeria, has called on stakeholders to take actionable steps that will reduce the number of out-of-school children.

A statement by the Academies in celebration of Children’s Day explained that reports from UNICEF showed a decline in the number of children learning in Nigeria.

Six students to represent Nigeria at world championship

Six students from different schools will represent Nigeria at the 2023 Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship in Disneyworld, Orlando, Florida, USA.

The competition would take place between July 30 and August 2, 2023.

Lagos trains teachers in robotics education

The Apapa Local Government Area of Lagos State has embarked on a five-day workshop to train primary school teachers in the council on robotics education.

The beneficiaries, which comprise ICT teachers across public primary schools in Apapa LG were trained on the new wave of globalisation and technologically driven innovative education.
