The Lagos State Government has officially announced the commencement of the Second Phase of the 2025 Entrance Examination into its 16 Model Colleges and Upgraded Junior Secondary Schools, excluding Vetland Junior Grammar School, Ifako-Ijaiye.
The announcement, made through the Lagos State Examinations Board, follows growing public appeals and requests from parents and stakeholders seeking an additional opportunity for their wards to participate in the screening exercise.
Speaking on the development, Mr. Orunsolu Adebayo, Director of the Lagos State Examinations Board, said the state government graciously approved the second phase in response to appeals received via the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.
“This second phase is intended to accommodate eligible Primary 6 pupils who missed the initial screening. Registration will begin on Wednesday, July 9 and close on Friday, August 15, 2025,” he stated.
The Computer-Based Test (CBT) screening is scheduled for Saturday, August 23, 2025, and will be conducted at designated CBT centres across the state. This, according to the board, aligns with the government’s continued efforts to promote digital literacy and innovation in the educational assessment process.
Parents and guardians are advised to ensure their wards register online by visiting the Lagos State Examinations Board’s official portal: https://examsboard.lagosstate.gov.ng.
Upon successful registration, candidates are required to log in using their USERNAME and PASSWORD to print their Examination Slips, which contain vital details about the test centre and other examination logistics.
Mr. Adebayo emphasized that the screening test is the sole admission criterion for placement into any of the state’s model colleges or upgraded junior secondary schools, and only Primary 6 pupils are eligible to participate.
The board urged school administrators, parents, guardians, and all stakeholders to support the process and ensure a smooth and orderly examination phase.
“We solicit the cooperation of all parties involved to ensure a hitch-free and successful second phase of this critical entrance examination,” Mr. Adebayo concluded.
