The Prof. Adaramaja Education Foundation has awarded scholarships to outstanding pupils during the closing ceremony of its 2025 Summer Lessons programme held at L.G.E.A. Primary School, Otte Oja, Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State. The scholarships were given to the best-performing pupils in each class category, as part of the foundation’s drive to reward excellence and encourage academic commitment among young learners.

In addition to the scholarships, the foundation also took responsibility for the payment of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) fees for exceptional students who took part in this year’s summer lessons. The gesture, according to the organisers, was designed to reduce the financial burden on parents while opening opportunities for deserving children to further their education unhindered.

The initiative, now in its fifth year, is spearheaded by the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KWSUBEB), Prof. Shehu Raheem Adaramaja. He explained that the programme forms part of broader interventions that include school rehabilitation, teacher training, and direct support to indigent pupils. Prof. Adaramaja also commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for creating an enabling environment to promote educational development across the state.

Speaking at the event, Adaramaja said the foundation’s interventions highlight the importance of community-driven support for education. “In a society where many children risk being left behind due to economic challenges, the foundation stands as a reminder that targeted interventions can change destinies,” he noted. He added that the scholarships and financial assistance are a demonstration of shared responsibility, where leaders, government, and communities come together to empower children through education and, by extension, drive community development.
