Customs Announces October 9 Online Exam for Inspectorate and Assistant Cadre Recruitment
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced that its main online recruitment examination for shortlisted candidates in the Inspectorate and Customs Assistant Cadres will hold on Thursday, October 9, 2025. The Service made this known in a statement released via its official X handle on Tuesday, describing the exercise as a major milestone in its ongoing recruitment drive to strengthen manpower across operational commands and border posts nationwide.
According to the statement, candidates have been divided into three batches—A, B, and C—and are required to log in using their National Identification Number (NIN) through the official portal, https://updates.customs.gov.ng, to confirm their batch, date, and examination time. The NCS emphasized that strict compliance with the assigned schedule is mandatory, warning that failure to adhere may result in disqualification. It further cautioned that the use of calculators, mobile phones, or other electronic devices during the exam is prohibited.
The Customs Service also reminded candidates that only those applying for the Inspectorate and Customs Assistant Cadres are eligible to participate in this stage of the recruitment process, while applicants under the Superintendent Cadre are excluded. It warned against multiple logins or switching browser windows during the test, as such actions could lead to disqualification or disruption of participation. The Service stated that the online exam underscores its commitment to adopting technology-driven recruitment methods and modernizing staff selection processes.
Under the leadership of Comptroller-General Adewale Adeniyi, the NCS has continued to push for transparency, efficiency, and accountability through digital transformation. The Service explained that adopting an online examination system would help minimize human interference, promote fairness, and ensure that only qualified candidates advance in the recruitment process.
