In a major step toward global academic collaboration, the Edo State Ministry of Education, under the leadership of Senator Monday Okpebholo and supervision of Dr. Emmanuel Paddy Iyamu, has secured a strategic partnership between Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, and Fujian Jiangxia University, China. The agreement, signed in China, is aimed at strengthening research, student and faculty exchanges, as well as fostering innovation in engineering, electronics, and technology—positioning Edo State as a regional hub for educational excellence.

Speaking shortly after the signing ceremony, the Edo State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Emmanuel Paddy Iyamu, said the collaboration reflects Governor Okpebholo’s unwavering commitment to transforming the state’s education sector in alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He emphasized that the initiative underscores Edo’s determination to bridge local institutions with international centres of excellence, thereby equipping students with the global competencies needed for 21st-century success.

“Education is the foundation of progress,” Dr. Iyamu said. “By connecting our institutions with global partners like Fujian Jiangxia University, we are empowering Edo youths with skills and exposure to thrive in engineering, technology, and innovation—both locally and internationally.” He added that the partnership will enhance academic standards, technical expertise, cross-border e-commerce, digital economy integration, vocational education, and innovation capacity.

With this milestone, Edo State continues to set the pace in educational reform, creating a dynamic ecosystem where learning meets innovation and research drives real-world impact.
