Lady (Dr.) Ada Chukwudozie, the board chairman of Keystone Bank Limited, has reaffirmed her dedication to youth empowerment and innovation by rewarding outstanding young scientists and “Girls in Tech” innovators at the 7th Energy, Science, Technology, and Innovation Conference and Exhibitions (FAPSCON 2025). The event, held at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Igbariam Campus, Anambra State, brought together policymakers, academics, entrepreneurs, and students under the theme “Leveraging Indigenous Technology and Recalibrating National Priorities for Achievable Tech Innovations and SDGs in Nigeria.”
Lady Chukwudozie presented cash prizes to winners of the Young Scientists and Girls in Tech categories, emphasizing that the gesture aligns with Keystone Bank’s commitment to promoting education, innovation, and gender inclusion in the technology space. She urged Nigerian youths to harness their creativity and intelligence to drive homegrown technological advancements capable of reshaping the nation’s economy.
In her keynote address, Lady Chukwudozie encouraged young innovators to develop confidence in local capacity and to stop depending on foreign solutions. “The world is rapidly evolving, and Nigeria must not be left behind. Innovation is not about waiting for others to show the way; it is about thinking differently, daring to try, and believing that what we have here in Nigeria is enough to create world-class solutions,” she said.
Addressing young women in the audience, she called for the dismantling of gender stereotypes in science and technology. “The future of technology belongs not just to men, but to every determined woman who dares to innovate. Women bring creativity, compassion, and balance to innovation. When women lead in technology, the impact is deeper and more sustainable,” she added, inspiring applause from participants.
The conference also featured distinguished guests, including COOU Vice Chancellor Professor Kate Azuka Omenugha, who served as Chief Host; Chief Ifedi Godfrey Nwaejim, CEO of Treasures Suites and Conference, Abuja; the Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr. Chinedu Nwoye; and Engr. Dr. Chidi Nwafor, who delivered the guest lecture. Participants commended Lady Chukwudozie and Keystone Bank for their consistent commitment to human capital development and fostering innovation-driven initiatives across Nigeria.
