Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has officially commissioned a new building at Bells University in Ota, Ogun State. The building, generously donated by Asiwaju Solomon Onafowokan, Chairman of Coleman Wires and Cables, will serve as the College of Postgraduate Studies. The purpose of this donation is to foster the development of future leaders who will make positive impacts on society.

During the commissioning ceremony, Obasanjo expressed profound gratitude to Onafowokan for his invaluable contribution to the community’s advancement, emphasizing that the donation has significantly enhanced the university’s facilities. He reaffirmed that the university belongs solely to the community and cannot be inherited or sold by his children.

The Vice Chancellor of Bells University, Prof. Jeremiah Ojediran, hailed the newly commissioned edifice as a symbol of hope, progress, and the potential for greatness. He extended heartfelt appreciation to the donor, Asiwaju Solomon Onafowokan, highlighting the project’s emphasis on cost-effective solutions. Onafowokan, in his remarks, expressed gratitude to all attendees and apologized for the event’s delay due to the COVID-19 lockdown. Prof. Bart Nnaji, the Pro-chancellor and Chairman of the Council, commended both former President Obasanjo and Onafowokan for their contributions to education and urged other philanthropists to emulate their example by supporting private institutions.
