In a joint press release issued on Friday, The Brickhall School Abuja and the family of Miguel Ovoke, the four-year-old pupil who tragically passed away, revealed their plans to establish an educational foundation in his memory. This foundation will provide scholarships for indigent students, honoring the young boy’s memory and legacy.

Miguel Ovoke’s untimely demise, attributed to aspiration of meat while eating at the school, deeply saddened both the Ovoke family and the Brickhall School community. To commemorate Miguel’s life and ensure that his memory lives on, the Ovoke family announced their intention to set up an educational foundation. This foundation will offer scholarships to underprivileged students, providing them with opportunities for education and growth.

In addition to the scholarship foundation, Brickhall School also announced plans to immortalize Miguel Ovoke by naming the early years Resource Room at the school in his memory. Furthermore, the school pledged to support the Miguel Ovoke foundation by granting scholarships to selected underprivileged children, thereby continuing Miguel’s legacy of compassion and generosity.

The joint statement emphasized the commitment of both the Ovoke family and Brickhall School to provide an excellent and child-friendly learning environment for all students. It also expressed gratitude for the support received from the police, the Ministry of Education, and the general public during this difficult time.
