The Sokoto State Government and UNICEF have finalized plans to collaborate on initiatives aimed at improving child health and well-being in the state.
This agreement was solidified during a recent visit by UNICEF’s country representative in Nigeria, Christian Munduate, who met with key stakeholders including Governor Ahmed Aliyu and the First Lady, Fatima Aliyu.
Governor Aliyu announced the state’s contribution to the Child Nutrition Fund, which will be used to procure essential nutrition supplies. He highlighted the state’s commitment to addressing severe acute malnutrition and ensuring the health of Sokoto’s children.
UNICEF Representative Munduate praised the governor’s leadership and the partnership, emphasizing that the collaboration will make a significant impact in combating malnutrition. She expressed confidence that their joint efforts would greatly benefit the state’s vulnerable children.
