The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has accused the Federal Government of neglecting its longstanding demands, particularly regarding the renegotiation of the 2009 ASUU/FGN agreement.

ASUU Nsukka Zone Coordinator, Raphael Amokaha, voiced these concerns during a press conference in Makurdi, stating that both past and current administrations have failed to address the union’s grievances.

Amokaha warned that if the government’s continued inaction pushes ASUU into another industrial action, the government should be held responsible for the resulting crisis. He emphasized that any calls for resolution should be directed at the government, not the union.

ASUU has urged the government to engage in meaningful dialogue to prevent further disruptions to the nation’s education system.
