Dr. Adebisi Layiwola, Principal and Head of School at Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos, has encouraged pupils to remain relentless in their pursuit of excellence following their impressive performance in the West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) and other assessments.

During the school’s 27th Founder’s Day service and prize-giving ceremony, Dr. Layiwola reported that the Class of 2024 achieved a remarkable 97.4% credit pass rate, with 82.2% earning distinction grades and 45% receiving A1 grades. She also highlighted commendable results in external examinations, including IGCSE, BECE, and Checkpoint.

Aligned with this session’s theme, “One School, One Vision, Endless Possibilities,” the school has introduced innovative programs aimed at enhancing critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and technical skills among pupils. Dr. Layiwola emphasized the importance of empowering students to become future leaders and global citizens.

In his keynote address, Mr. Urum Kalu Eke, Chairman of the Board of Governors at the Institute of Directors Centre for Corporate Governance (IoDCCG), urged students to pursue their dreams and harness their ingenuity. He also announced the establishment of a five-year scholarship for the best student in Mathematics.

Venerable Henry Adelegan of the Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina, Lagos, encouraged pupils to maintain focus and diligence, emphasizing that success results from a positive attitude and deliberate actions. Outstanding pupils were recognized with prizes and scholarships during the ceremony.
