The Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) has warned of plans to resume its suspended strike.

NASU’s General Secretary, Peters Adeyemi, revealed the union’s frustration during a National Executive Council meeting in Abuja, citing non-payment of withheld salaries despite directives from the President.

Adeyemi criticized the Finance Ministry for delaying the payment of two months’ salaries approved by President Bola Tinubu in October 2023, accusing the Minister of Finance of prioritizing other issues. “Our patience is exhausted, and we have no choice but to resume the strike,” he added.

The union lamented that the situation undermines efforts by the Education Ministry and the President to prevent strikes, holding the Finance Ministry responsible for the continued crisis in the university system.
