Former Central Bank of Nigeria Deputy Governor, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu, has been appointed as the inaugural president of the African School of Governance (ASG), effective October 1, 2024. ASG, based in Kigali, Rwanda, was established by African leaders to address governance challenges across the continent, offering world-class education in public policy and leadership.

Founded by Rwandan President Paul Kagame and former Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn, ASG is supported by the Mastercard Foundation and partners with the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. Moghalu, a respected figure in global governance, will guide the institution in shaping future African leaders.

Moghalu expressed his commitment to the school’s mission, stating his belief in transforming Africa through competent leadership. ASG will offer various academic programs, including a Master of Public Administration, and host research centers focused on governance, trade, technology, and African history.
