Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), Professor Polycarp Chigbu, has commended the institution’s Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) for acquiring 347 plots of land.
The land, situated at the Coal City Eastern Extension Alliance Estate in Enugu, was officially handed over to ASUU last Wednesday by Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, through Barr. Gerald Asogwa of the Enugu State Housing Development Corporation.
Professor Chigbu expressed deep gratitude for the governor’s facilitation of the land handover, emphasizing its significance to the university community. He noted that the land acquisition, which ASUU-UNN initially secured in 2011, marks a positive development for the university’s faculty and staff.
The vice-chancellor also extended his appreciation to other university unions, highlighting their continued contributions toward enhancing the institution’s growth and welfare initiatives.
