Enugu State College of Nursing Sciences has reached a significant milestone with the accreditation and upgrade to a collegial status, thanks to substantial investments by Governor Dr. Peter Mbah’s administration.

The institution, now fully accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN), has also received approvals from key bodies like the National Board for Technical Education and the Federal Ministry of Health. The upgrades are part of the governor’s broader vision to transform Enugu’s health sector and make it a hub for health tourism.

At the orientation event for the 2024 intake, which saw a record 283 students – the largest in the college’s history – the governor’s vision for an improved health system was clearly demonstrated. Represented by his Special Adviser on Health, Dr. Yomi Jaye, Governor Mbah highlighted the infrastructure and manpower improvements that have been pivotal in achieving this transformation. The upgrades will not only enhance the quality of education but also improve health outcomes in Enugu and beyond.

Governor Mbah reiterated that the reforms are part of a strategic push to position Enugu State as a leading provider of top-tier health practitioners.
