Ogun State’s Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Professor Abayomi Arigbabu, highlighted the state government’s commitment to advancing adult and non-formal education at a recent workshop in Abeokuta themed “Engaging and Motivating Adult Learners: Creating Learner-Centered Environments that Promote Active Participation,”

The event, organized by the Ministry and Agency for Mass Education (AME), aimed to equip adult education supervisors and facilitators with skills to engage and motivate learners. The workshop emphasized the importance of using diverse teaching methodologies to accommodate different learning styles.

Professor Arigbabu stressed the importance of adult education in facilitating personal growth, professional development, and community empowerment. He outlined key initiatives by the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration, including the approval of a 100% increase in the honoraria for adult education personnel and support for the monitoring and supervision of adult education programs across the state.

He urged workshop participants to implement the strategies discussed to enhance the effectiveness of adult education in Ogun, aiming to elevate the sector to new heights and ensure quality education for all.
