Legacy Stars of Ibadan (LSI) has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Health Minister, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, to investigate the current and past management of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, following recurring power outages affecting the institution.

In a statement issued after their monthly meeting on Sunday, LSI highlighted that UCH has faced power cuts over unpaid debts to the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC), disrupting essential medical services.

The group, led by Mogaji Saheed Oyewale and Barrister Kazeem Oladepo, described the situation as a national embarrassment, urging swift federal intervention to restore stability at the hospital.

The group emphasized the negative impact on patients and called for measures to resolve UCH’s challenges, asserting that a leading tertiary health institution should not face such dire conditions.
