Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has commended the outstanding academic achievements of students sponsored by his administration to pursue higher education in India.
During a visit to the students at Sharjah University in India, Yusuf expressed pride in their dedication and academic excellence, describing their performance as proof of the value of investing in education.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by his spokesman, Sunusi Tofa, the governor highlighted that the resources allocated to the scholarship program were yielding results, with the students exceeding expectations.
Yusuf reiterated his administration’s commitment to advancing education, emphasizing the importance of nurturing young talents to achieve a prosperous Kano State. “This visit has allowed me to engage directly with the students, address their challenges, and gather insights from the first batch of over 400 students sponsored under the 100:1 Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme,” he said.
The visit also enabled an on-the-spot assessment to improve preparations for future beneficiaries of both foreign and domestic scholarships. The governor reaffirmed his commitment to completing the 100:1 initiative before the end of his first tenure.
According to the statement, the governor’s engagement serves as a motivation for students to pursue academic excellence, both locally and internationally.
