The suspended Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Calabar (UNICAL), Prof. Cyril Ndifon, has denied allegations of sexual harassment and claimed that the evidence presented against him, including alleged nude photographs, was manipulated. Prof. Ndifon made these assertions on Tuesday while testifying before Justice James Omotosho at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

During his testimony, Ndifon disputed the authenticity of “Exhibit H,” which purportedly contained photos and chats extracted from his Oppo phone by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). “I did not send any nude photographs, neither did I solicit for any,” he stated. He further claimed that neither his face nor that of the complainant, identified as TKJ, appeared in the disputed images, suggesting that the evidence had been edited.

Prof. Ndifon also raised concerns about procedural irregularities in the ICPC’s investigation. He alleged that he was not invited to participate in the evidence extraction process and that the complainant’s phone was not analyzed for corroboration. Additionally, he questioned the complainant’s admission into the Faculty of Law, claiming she gained entry irregularly after scoring only 102 in her JAMB examination.

The ICPC, however, has charged Ndifon with soliciting explicit images from TKJ via WhatsApp while serving as Dean, as well as attempting to pervert the course of justice. Both Ndifon and his co-defendant, lawyer Sunny Anyanwu, pleaded not guilty to the charges. The case has been adjourned to February 12 and 13 for further proceedings.
