The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced the registration and examination dates for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). According to JAMB, registration will commence on January 31, 2025, and close on March 5, 2025, while the main UTME will take place from March 8, 2025. A mock examination, designed to prepare candidates for the Computer-Based Testing (CBT) format, is scheduled for February 23, 2025, for candidates who opt to participate.

JAMB registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, disclosed this during a meeting with media executives in Lagos. He emphasized that candidates must provide their National Identification Number (NIN) to complete the registration process. The NIN is required to generate a profile code, which is a mandatory prerequisite for registration. Candidates can send their NIN via text to either 55019 or 66019 to obtain the code. The registration fees vary, with candidates opting for the mock examination paying ₦8,200, while those registering for only the UTME will pay ₦7,200. Direct Entry (DE) applicants will pay ₦5,700.

To accommodate the growing number of candidates, JAMB has expanded the number of approved CBT centres to 870, up from 747 in 2024, to minimise technical challenges and enhance the examination experience. Oloyede assured candidates that JAMB has taken steps to address past issues, ensuring a smooth process in 2025. He advised candidates to register early, gather necessary documents, and stay informed via JAMB’s official channels, as late submissions will not be accepted. JAMB reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, efficiency, and fairness, promising an improved experience for all participants in the 2025 UTME.
