The ceremony was graced by key figures from the Lagos State Government, underscoring the public-private sector collaboration in advancing education. Among the dignitaries present were the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin; Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Folashade Ambrose; Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Bolaji Ogunlende; and Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Tolani Ali Balogun. Speaking on behalf of the Governor of Lagos State, Salu-Hundeyin commended Charterhouse Lagos for setting a benchmark in educational standards. She noted that the groundbreaking represents an investment not only in infrastructure but also in the future of Lagos State’s children.

The Director of Education at Charterhouse Lagos, John Todd, described the event as a major milestone in the institution’s journey. Expressing enthusiasm for the secondary and boarding school expansion, he emphasized that the school would provide a British independent school education of international repute within Lagos. “No Nigerian family needs to travel overseas because they can benefit from a world-class British Independent School education here in Lagos at Charterhouse Lagos,” he stated.
