The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released another batch of results for candidates who sat the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), as the nationwide exercise enters a new phase.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, confirmed that candidates who wrote the examination on Monday, April 20, can now access their results through the board’s approved channels.

“The results for Monday, 20th, have been released. Candidates can view their results using the usual process,” he said.

Candidates are required to send “UTMERESULT” via SMS to either 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during registration to check their scores.

The newly released results are part of JAMB’s ongoing phased release strategy since the examination commenced on April 16, with over two million candidates participating in computer-based tests across accredited centres nationwide.

The board had earlier released results for candidates who sat for the examination on Thursday, followed by a combined batch for Friday and Saturday. However, the release of those results was delayed, sparking concerns among candidates. JAMB later apologised, citing the absence of its chief executive due to official duties as the cause of the delay.

The backlog was cleared on Sunday, April 19, allowing the board to proceed with subsequent releases.

JAMB reiterated that results will continue to be released in batches as the examination progresses, in line with its standard procedures.

The UTME remains a critical requirement for admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria, with millions of candidates sitting for the examination each year in pursuit of higher education opportunities.
