The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full accreditation to 22 undergraduate programmes at Adeleke University, Ede, Osun State, following the commission’s October/December 2025 accreditation exercise.

The development was announced in a statement issued by the university management on Wednesday.

Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Solomon Adebola, disclosed the approval during a meeting with members of the university community, describing it as a major milestone in the institution’s pursuit of academic excellence.

According to him, the accreditation was formally communicated in a letter signed by the NUC Director of Accreditation, Abraham Chundusu, on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the commission.

“The accreditation followed a series of comprehensive human and facility assessments carried out by the NUC team during the exercise. It serves as a validation of our efforts to provide a world-class learning environment,” Adebola said.

The fully accredited programmes cut across several disciplines, including Finance, Office and Information Management, Public Administration, Nursing Science, English Language and Literary Studies, Religious Studies, History and International Studies, and Mass Communication.

The university also secured accreditation for technology-focused programmes such as Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Systems, Information Technology and Software Engineering.

In the Engineering faculty, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Computer Engineering received approval, alongside science-based courses including Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, and Food Science and Nutrition.

Adebola stated that the accreditation status would remain valid for five years, in line with NUC regulations.

Beyond the 22 accredited programmes, the university management also highlighted the recent approval granted to its Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Doctor of Pharmacy (D.Pharm) programmes under the Faculties of Health Sciences and Pharmacy.

The vice-chancellor commended members of staff for their dedication and contributions toward achieving the feat.

“I must commend our members of staff for their dedication and commitment to the institution’s pursuit of academic excellence. This achievement is firmly enshrined in our motto: Education, Excellence, and Character,” he said.

The latest accreditation further strengthens Adeleke University’s academic standing and reinforces its growing reputation as one of Nigeria’s emerging private universities focused on quality education and professional development.
