Pinky and the Brain School came alive with excitement, colour and cultural pride on May 21, 2026, as pupils, parents and teachers gathered at the school premises to celebrate the institution’s Cultural Day.

The event showcased the rich cultural heritage of different ethnic groups in Nigeria, including the Igbo, Igala, Edo, Hausa, Rivers and Yoruba tribes. Pupils appeared in beautiful traditional attires representing their various cultures while also displaying unique dances, local dishes and customs associated with each tribe.

The atmosphere was filled with music, dancing and excitement as learners confidently performed cultural displays that highlighted Nigeria’s diversity and unity.

Parents and guests were thrilled by the creativity and organisation of the event, moving from one stand to another to taste different traditional meals and admire the cultural exhibitions prepared by the pupils and teachers.

One excited parent expressed her happiness during the celebration, saying, “I feel so happy. I ate different dishes from different tribes. I even wished I could continue eating, but I was already full.”

The cultural performances also featured traditional dances from various ethnic groups, with pupils entertaining guests through energetic and colourful presentations that attracted loud applause from the audience.

Speaking during the event, the proprietress of the school, Mrs Juliana Usman, expressed gratitude to parents, staff and pupils for making the programme successful.

She emphasised the importance of culture in the education and upbringing of children, noting that cultural activities help learners appreciate their identity, respect diversity and promote unity among different ethnic groups.

According to her, education goes beyond classroom learning and should also include teaching children about their traditions, values and cultural heritage.

Mrs Usman added that the school remains committed to raising well-rounded learners who understand the importance of national unity, tolerance and cultural appreciation.

The event ended on a joyful note as parents, pupils and teachers took photographs, shared meals and celebrated the beauty of Nigeria’s rich cultural diversity together.
