PTE and ApplyBoard Partner to Streamline Global Education Pathways for Nigerian Learners
PTE (Pearson Test of English) and ApplyBoard have joined forces to make studying, working, and migrating abroad easier for Nigerian learners. By integrating ApplyBoard’s application support with PTE’s English-language assessment, applicants can now understand requirements earlier, plan more confidently, and move seamlessly from test preparation to submission.
The partnership also benefits institutions by creating a stronger, more reliable applicant pipeline. Early planning reduces delays, ensures complete applications, and increases the likelihood of meeting intake deadlines.
Demand for international education among Nigerians continues to rise. In the United States, Nigerian student enrollment reached 20,029 in 2023/24, a 13.5% increase from the previous year (Open Doors 2024). In the UK, the number of Nigerian students grew from 10,685 in 2017/18 to 44,195 in 2021/22, underscoring the need for timely access to English testing and clearer guidance.
Through the partnership, learners and counsellors in Nigeria can access PTE vouchers via ApplyBoard, pay in naira, and avoid foreign exchange delays. Counsellors supporting multiple applicants can also purchase vouchers in bulk, enabling better planning for test dates and submission deadlines.
“With ApplyBoard, we’re removing barriers so learners in Nigeria can prove their English skills and stay on track for their study, work, or migration goals,” said Ipek Aydin, Team Manager, PTE Sales, Middle East and Africa.
Aaron McKee, Director of Global Sales – Growth and VAS, ApplyBoard, added, “By combining ApplyBoard’s reach with PTE, we’re helping institutions engage better-prepared applicants and helping learners simplify the journey from planning to submission.”
Together, PTE and ApplyBoard aim to provide learners with greater certainty and ensure institutions receive applicants who are better prepared to meet English-language requirements and deadlines.
