According to Mallam Bala Isa, Executive Secretary of the Borno Scholarship Board, the Borno State Government will sponsor indigent students to study the Chinese language in China.
Governor Babagana Zulum has also approved scholarships for undergraduate courses in Medicine (MBBS) and Engineering at reputable institutions in China.
Isa outlined the requirements for applicants: those wishing to study Chinese must excel in arts subjects, while candidates for Medicine and Engineering must have strong results in English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, with a minimum of 75% in WAEC for MBBS and 65% for Engineering.
Applications are open on the scholarship website until August 15, and applicants should be between 18 to 25 years old.
