The Federal Ministry of Education has extended the resumption date of Federal Government Academy, Suleja, by 10 days, moving it from September 8 to September 18, 2024.

This decision was announced by Minister of Education Prof. Tahir Mamman during a recent inspection of the school’s renovation progress. Accompanied by Minister of State for Education Dr. Yusuf Sununu, Mamman toured facilities including hostels, toilets, the clinic, laboratories, and the skills and renovation center.

Mamman emphasized the need for the extension to ensure that ongoing renovations meet the required standards for the school, which is a specialized institution for gifted students. He acknowledged the existing infrastructure challenges and pledged continued support to elevate the school to its intended status. The minister also assured that the school’s policy regarding age limits for gifted students would remain flexible.

The Federal Government Academy, Suleja, established in 1990 and fully funded by the federal government, aims to provide high-quality education for exceptionally talented students. While students only pay for Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) fees, their tuition is fully covered by the government.
