Vice President Kashim Shettima announced on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja that the Federal Government plans to integrate technology into Nigeria’s education infrastructure to improve learning outcomes.

He highlighted that this initiative aims to address human capacity and resource challenges, with President Bola Tinubu fully committed to driving educational reforms.

Shettima pointed to India’s successful use of KYAN smart class solutions for rural education as a model, expressing confidence that similar technologies could transform Nigeria’s education system. He emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach to education reform, including infrastructure improvements, teacher training, and technological advancements.

Dr. Ndiame Diop, World Bank Country Director for Nigeria, outlined the bank’s focus on enhancing governance, health, and education through projects like HOPE-Governance, HOPE Primary Health Care, and HOPE Basic Education. These initiatives aim to revitalize key sectors and develop human capital across Nigeria, with an emphasis on result-based financing and cooperation among all stakeholders.
