Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA) has received approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to launch nine new academic programmes beginning with the 2024/2025 session.

The new courses include Nursing Science, Public Health, and Medical Laboratory Science under the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences; Cyber Security, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information and Communication Technology, and Information Systems in the Faculty of Computing; and Food Science and Technology in the Faculty of Agriculture.

The letter, signed by Acting Director of Academic Planning, Abubakar Girei, confirms that AAUA has met the required standards for the new courses.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Olugbenga Ige expressed enthusiasm about the development, calling it a “fitting icing on the cake” for the university’s efforts. He assured that AAUA is well-equipped to deliver the new programmes and produce globally competitive graduates. The Vice Chancellor also thanked the university community for their support in achieving this milestone.
