The Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has acknowledged concerns from some parents over the recent increase in boarding fees for State model colleges, from N35,000 to N100,000 per term.

In a statement released yesterday, the ministry explained that while the decision was challenging, it was necessary due to current economic realities.

The fee hike has sparked disappointment among parents, who described the move as harsh, but the ministry maintained that the adjustment is essential to sustain quality boarding services.
