The United States government has reiterated its commitment to strengthening educational partnerships with Nigeria, with 73 Nigerian students receiving financial aid, scholarships, and assistantships in 2023.

This was disclosed by US Ambassador Richard Mills during the 23rd Annual US Education College Fair in Abuja.

Ambassador Mills highlighted the critical role of quality education in fostering economic growth, health improvement, and gender equality. He emphasized that a prosperous Nigeria benefits both countries, noting that studying in the US also promotes cultural exchange and long-lasting friendships.

Last year, over $30 million (₦47.7 billion) in financial aid was awarded globally, with Nigerian students among the beneficiaries.
