The MTN Nigeria Foundation has awarded a remarkable 13,717 scholarships to 4,949 Nigerian students over the past 13 years, as announced by Foundation Director, Mrs. Aishatu Sadauki.

At a recent award ceremony and alumni induction, Sadauki celebrated the graduation of 380 scholars, emphasizing their achievements as a testament to their dedication and potential to contribute to national development. She encouraged current scholars to view challenges as opportunities for growth and to support incoming students, fostering a sense of community within the MTN family.

Sadauki highlighted the transformative power of education in shaping minds and driving societal change, quoting Margaret Mead on the impact of committed individuals in changing the world. She reinforced MTN’s commitment to empowering students from diverse backgrounds, enabling them to become visionary leaders and problem-solvers.

In a goodwill message, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), praised the scholarship initiative for promoting access to education for all, including persons with disabilities. He commended the partnership between JAMB and MTN, underscoring its role in creating opportunities for educational advancement and fostering a brighter future for Nigerian students. Beneficiary Faith Osemeke, a student at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, expressed her gratitude for the foundation’s support, which particularly focuses on science, technology, and inclusivity.
