The Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) organized an International Conference on Girl Child Education, bringing together key stakeholders from across Nigeria and the global community.

The two-day summit focused on finding solutions to the pressing issues surrounding the education of girls in Nigeria, where millions are denied access to quality education.

Data presented during the conference from UNESCO and UNICEF highlighted the dire state of girls’ education in Nigeria, with around 7.6 million girls out of school. The statistics revealed that 60% of Nigeria’s 20 million out-of-school children are girls, with a significant number from the Northern region. The forum underscored the urgent need to address these challenges to close the gender gap in education.

The NGF facilitated discussions around innovative strategies and partnerships, spotlighting the role of organizations like NewGlobe, which has been instrumental in implementing transformative education solutions. NewGlobe’s learning technology platforms, designed to meet each child’s unique learning needs, were showcased as effective tools in enhancing educational outcomes for girls and ensuring they reach their full potential in literacy and numeracy.
