The Purple Dove Foundation, a non-governmental organization, donated gifts and cash totaling N3.5 million to over 100 indigent patients at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (UATH), Gwagwalada.
The foundation’s Chairman/CEO, Princess Amara Ifechuckwu, stated that the initiative is part of the foundation’s mission to support the less privileged and ease their financial burdens. Essential items such as toiletries, disinfectants, and detergents were also distributed to the patients.
Several individuals benefited from the donation, including an orphan who received N13,000 and other patients who received cash gifts ranging from N10,000 to N20,000. The foundation also organized games to uplift the patients’ spirits, with winners receiving cash prizes and gifts.
UATH’s Chief Medical Director, Prof. Bissallah Ahmed Ekele, represented by the Public Relations Officer, Sani Suleiman, praised the foundation’s generosity and called on other Nigerians to follow suit in extending kindness to those in need.
