The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) has reiterated its commitment to broadening access to high-quality digital learning resources nationwide, hosting the EdTech Festival at its Digital Resource Centre in Abuja.

The two-day event, themed “Building Ed-Tech for Learning and Profit: Experiencing the Future of Learning,” was inaugurated by UBEC Executive Secretary Dr. Hamid Bobboyi, represented by National Coordinator Prof. Bashir Galadanci. T

he festival, organized in collaboration with Co-Creation Hub (CCHub), aimed to highlight cutting-edge educational technology solutions developed to address challenges in Nigeria’s education system, especially in underserved communities.

Prominent EdTech startups—including eLimu, Schoola, Wifi Combat, Gradely, MagicLab, and EduTams—presented their innovations and shared insights on building sustainable, impactful businesses that tackle key educational needs. Mrs. Chinyelu Akpa, Education Practice Lead at CCHub, introduced the Viable Community initiative to bolster support for emerging EdTech startups, emphasizing the critical role of EdTech in reshaping Nigeria’s educational landscape.

The festival featured workshops, exhibitions, and interactive sessions tailored for educators, developers, government officials, and students, with a focus on strengthening public-private partnerships in the education sector.
