Prof. Kingsley Moghalu, President of the African School of Governance, called on African leaders to focus on solving the continent’s pressing issues without depending on U.S. leadership.

Reflecting on Donald Trump’s re-election, Moghalu argued that Trump’s return is unlikely to significantly impact Africa, as the former U.S. president has historically shown limited interest in the continent.

Instead, Moghalu urged Africans to prioritize addressing core challenges like leadership, governance, and security through regional efforts. He emphasized that Africa’s progress depends on self-reliance and reducing dependence on foreign assistance.

Moghalu cited Botswana’s recent electoral success as an example of effective local governance, noting that impactful change must come from within African nations.
