Buhari buried education, we will hold funeral – NANS
The National Association of Nigerian Students, South-West Zone, has said that it is ready to conduct a funeral for public education, accusing the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), of burying public education in the country.
The students, in a statement signed by its Coordinator and Spokesperson, Adegboye Olatunji and Awoyinfa Opeoluwa, respectively, and made available to The PUNCH on Monday, said in the coming days, they would be hitting the streets again.

Participants at the National Conference on Climate Change have called on the Federal Government to mainstream climate change as a subject into the educational curriculum.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), yesterday, berated President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration for planning to confer a national award on the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu.

NUC Releases Updated List of 14 Nigerian Universities that Have Approval to Operate Distance Learning Centres
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has released the 2022 updated list of Nigerian universities with the approval to operate distance learning centres.
The NUC also stated that the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), which has 72 study/resource centres nationwide, is currently the only approved open university in the Nigerian University System (NUS).

ASUU strike: Unilorin ASUU chairman seeks parents’ intervention
Prof. Moyosore Ajao, the Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), University of Ilorin (Unilorin) Chapter, has called on stakeholders, particularly parents, to prevail on the Federal Government to resolve the ongoing strike by the union.
Making the appeal while speaking with newsmen in Ilorin on Monday, Ajao observed that the strike had led to the closure of federal universities in the country since Feb. 14.
