O-meal: Osun govt orders investigation as 18 students suffer food poisoning
The Osun Government has ordered a full investigation into an alleged food poisoning of 18 students at St. James Primary School (B) Owoope in Osogbo.
This is contained in a statement by the state’s Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr Kolapo Alimi, and made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Osogbo.

Banditry: FG to commence building houses, schools, hospitals, others in six affected states
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the commencement of the Fulako initiative in which the Federal Government will build houses, schools , hospitals, clinics , veterinary empowerment and solar energy as part of non-kinetic response to the problems of banditry and kidnapping in the North.

How Jigawa govt, UNICEF, others are addressing out-of-school children
The Jigawa State government, in collaboration with the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), has embarked on a five-day “Train the Trainers” program for community engagement strategies on mentoring and monitoring. The goal is to improve and maintain the quality of formal and informal schools in the state.
In an exclusive interview with Online Tribune, the UNICEF focal point officer at the Jigawa State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Hajiya Umma Abdulkadir, stated that the project, funded by the European Union through UNICEF, aims to train 470 School-Based Management Committees (SBMCs) and Community-Based Management Committees (CBMCs) from 10 local government areas in the state. ASUU condemns low education budget, threatens strike
Universities across the country may witness strikes in 2024 due to the small budget allotted to the education sector and poor remuneration, the Academic Staff Union of Universities has said.
Speaking in an interview with The PUNCH on Monday, Prof. Emmanuel Oshodeke, explained that during the campaign and election earlier this year, President Bola Tinubu promised to increase the Education sector to at least 15 per cent or over.
Similarly, the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation also recommended for member states, a 26 per cent benchmark allocation for the education sector.

Council approves Law programme for Anchor varsity
