Professor Helen Labeodan, Chairperson of the Anti-Cultism Campaign Committee at the University of Ibadan Centre for Social Orientation, has called on students across the country to speak up whenever they are oppressed or intimidated by their seniors.

She made this statement while addressing students of the International School, Ibadan, stressing the importance of reporting harassment, intimidation, or bullying by seniors, classmates, or any individual.

Labeodan emphasized the detrimental effects that such negative behaviors have on victims’ psyches and warned that perpetrators may face consequences later in life, as “everything that goes around comes around.”

In addition, Labeodan advised students to adhere to societal norms and values and conduct themselves in a manner that brings respect and honor. She highlighted the importance of maintaining vigilance and integrity as students prepare to enter higher institutions, urging them to uphold standards that foster a respectful and honorable environment.
