NYSC Director General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed, has clarified that corps members could expect to benefit from the minimum wage once approved, but that there had been no approval for an increase in their allowances.

This statement followed earlier claims circulating in the media that General Ahmed had announced a raise in corps members’ allowances during his visit.

During the recent orientation session at the Ogun State Orientation Camp in Sagamu, the NYSC Director General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed, addressed corps members on various topics including patriotism, entrepreneurship, security consciousness, and community development.

NYSC spokesman Eddy Megwa emphasized the importance of accurate reportage, stressing that the Director General’s remarks had been misrepresented. Megwa cautioned against misleading information that could potentially unsettle stakeholders involved with the NYSC.
