The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has once again secured the top position as the ‘Most Subscribed Institution’ by candidates in the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Institutional Ranking for the 2022/2023 admission exercise.
Kunle Akogun, UNILORIN’s director of corporate affairs, confirmed the university’s leading status and noted that this achievement extends to also being ranked first for admitting the highest number of international students among Nigerian universities.
UNILORIN, known for its consistency in attracting high numbers of admission seekers, has maintained its position as the most sought-after institution since 2013. This year, it garnered 97,351 applicants, surpassing other prominent universities like the University of Lagos, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Bayero University, and the University of Benin in terms of candidate applications.
The JAMB award, which UNILORIN has received multiple times, recognizes its excellence in meeting admission guidelines and its appeal to a diverse student population, including international students, contributing to its prestigious status in Nigerian higher education.
